Beverly Historic Walking Tour

4 Court Street, Beverly, WV 26253

Beverly, West Virginia, was founded as the county seat of Randolph County, Virginia in 1790. Today this historic significance is recognized through the designation of much of the town as a National Register Historic District.

By the present day, Beverly has become mainly a bedroom community for its larger neighbor, Elkins. But Beverly, first community on a wilderness frontier, continues to hold a special place in our area heritage. The many historical buildings remaining today make Historic Beverly stand out as a unique regional resource.

Over a dozen pre-Civil War buildings still survive, and some are open to the public as museums or shops. Learn more about this history of Beverly on this website History and Virtual Tour, or by visiting and experiencing Beverly for yourself.
