SUMMARY:Miss Elkins Area/Miss Tygart Valley competition @ Gandy Dance Theatre
DESCRIPTION:An official preliminary competition leading to the Miss West Virginia/Miss America competition. This competition also includes Miss Elkins Area’s/Miss Tygart Valley’s Outstanding Teen. The local competition will be held at the Gandy Dancer Theater in Elkins March 6 and 7. \nTeens must be a resident of West Virginia\, and be between the ages of 13-17\, and not a high school senior. Teen candidates will compete in a six-minute private interview\, fitness\, a 90 second talent presentation\, evening wear and onstage interview. \nMiss contestants must be between the ages of 17-25 before December 31\, 2020\, and live\, work or attend a West Virginia technical school\, college or university. Miss candidates will compete in a 10-minute private interview\, onstage interview\, a 90-second talent presentation\, evening wear and give a 10-15 second social impact statement that pertains to their personal social impact initiative. \nWinners of the local competition will be awarded the official Miss America/Outstanding Teen local crown\, sash\, flowers\, a scholarship and other prizes. They will also advance to the Miss West Virginia/Outstanding Teen competition to be held on June 25-27 at the Airborne Event Center in Martinsburg.
