SUMMARY:Virtual Pumpkin Carving Contest
DESCRIPTION:Pumpkin enthusiasts in the Mountain Arts District and beyond can enter an image of their pumpkin into the contest by submitting an online registration form and nominal fee of $3 per pumpkin or $5 for a family pass for 5 pumpkins. Pumpkins will be judged by area artists with prizes awarded at the end of October. Follow the MAD Facebook page to view all of the pumpkin images and to stay up to date with what our area artists are up to this fall!

SUMMARY:West Virginia Trilogy/Run For the Hills Half Marathon & 5K
DESCRIPTION:The WV Trilogy is a triptych of runs along the eastern continental divide. On Columbus Day weekend\, runners take over the Spruce Knob Mountain Center and\, over the course of three days\, complete first a 50K\, then a 50 mile and finally a half marathon race on the trails in and around the Experience Learning campus. Participants may choose to take part in one\, two\, or all three races. There is also a 5K race on the final day. The half marathon and 5K races directly support the Experience Learning organization and programs. West Virginia’s Monongahela National Forest (MNF) is a treasure where the mountains wrap themselves around you. The highlands of the MNF are a place of solitude\, choice and challenge – a place where nature prevails and where we must adapt. The landscape embodies wildness and reminds you of yesterday’s people. The West Virginia Mountain Trail Runners and Experience Learning welcome you to the Trilogy. Come for these special autumn runs on Spruce Mountain and take home memories you will enjoy for a lifetime.
