DESCRIPTION:Beverly Heritage Day: Discover the Stories \nDowntown Beverly will come alive with the people\, sights\, and sounds of our historic past as our annual timeline heritage event returns Saturday\, July 23rd. Come interact with Living History camps representing 18th\, 19th\, and 20th century eras with reenactors\, demonstrations\, presentations\, displays\, and more. Join us for a Parade of History\, children’s activities and games\, food\, live music\, and a brand new Scavenger Hunt and Civil War Spies Mystery Game. This family-friendly event is free open to history lovers of all ages. \nCivil War Spies Mystery Game: Beverly is occupied by federal troops and rumors are spreading about Confederate spies in our midst. Interact with local citizens to figure out who is lying and who is telling the truth. Correctly identify the two spies and you will be entered in a prize drawing. Will you be able to solve the mystery? Grand Prize – One Night’s Stay at the Mountaineer Casino Resort! \nScavenger Hunt: Follow a series of clues throughout the various reenactor camps to reveal a secret message that will lead you to a prize. Recommended for young adults and children with adult supervision. \nPresentations will include Don Teter as Porte Crayon\, a 19th-century journalist\, artist\, and soldier from West Virginia; Sam Winkler as Father Michael Costello\, a Civil War Priest and abolitionist; Art and Pam Dodds as Francis and Julia Pierpont\, West Virginia’s first Governor and First Lady. \nChildren’s activities will include the Game of Graces and Fishing for Chickens. \nThe 1841 Randolph County Jail will be open for visitors to see the new exhibit in the newly restored jailer’s office. \n  \nDraft schedule (times & details subject to change): \nParking available at corner of Fountain St & Walnut Ave \n10 am – Parade of History \n10:30 am – 5 pm – Camps\, games\, activities open \n11 am – Porte Crayon (Randolph County Museum) \n11:30 am–2 pm – Pulled pork lunch and pie sale (BHC patio) \n12 noon – Ed and Trish Bowes live music (lunch tent in Goff yard) \n1 pm – Father Michael Costello\, Civil War Priest (Civil War camp) \n1 pm – Julia Pierpont plays pump organ (Courthouse) \n2 pm – Gov.
