The speakers at this one-day event will discuss various approaches to Indigenous knowledge. Discussions will cover archeological insights\, Native culture\, traditions\, language\, and folklore. Comparing traditional Indigenous knowledge to western versions of archaeology\, history\, ethics of land use\, and religion will open insights to modern social concerns of Indigenous communities. Admission is $30 and lunch is included in ticket price. Scholarships for free attendance are available for students\, AmeriCorps members\, Indigenous people\, or needs-based applicants. Beekeepers\, farmers\, scientists\, chefs and academics give a broad perspective about the threats to honey bees\, what it means to our food security\, and how we can improve it.\nThe screening will begin at 6:30 pm\, and will be followed with a guided discussion. The hours are 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM\, Thursday-Sunday\, and admission is free.\nYou can interact with a replica cave and try its simulated crawl space\, read the interpretive panels about cave conservation and historical exploration\, and see the caving gear and prehistoric fossils on display.\nThe exhibit is located in the Appalachian Forest Discovery Center housed in the Darden Mill at 101 Railroad Avenue in Elkins\, West Virginia.
