DESCRIPTION:Come join us in Elkins for a social gravel ride starting from Joey’s Bike Shop on Saturday\, Nov. 4 at 1pm. We’ll have two different ride options to match your pace / fitness level.\nThe 2023 U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree was selected from the Monongahela National Forest and will be starting a tour through West Virginia on November 4 in Elkins before it arrives on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol grounds.\n\nWe’ll meet around 12:30pm in front of Joey’s Bike Shop and depart around 1pm. We’ll have two ride options. The first taking the rail trail from Elkins toward Parsons and will be a casual 10-12mph pace. The 2nd ride option will be on paved and gravel roads and a little more spirited\, but not hammer time.\n\nWe’ll plan to be back by 4pm so you have time to grab a bite to eat before the tree festivities kick-off at 6pm. One of the oldest agricultural fairs (since 1917) in West Virginia\, the Helvetia Community Fair encourages local families\, friends\, and visitors to celebrate our harvest and our heritage. \nFestivities include a parade\, Swiss folk dancing\, Fahnenschwingen (Swiss flag swinging)\, Alphorn playing\, yodeling\, field games\, relays\, concessions\, arts and crafts\, and a square dance.\nHelvetia’s original settlers proved they could withstand harsh winters and rugged terrain while retaining the traditions of their mother country\, Switzerland. \nThe Helvetia Community Fair reflects our Swiss character\, celebrates our ancestry\, and encourages our children and visitors to embrace our traditions.

DESCRIPTION:We are really excited to announce the lineup for this year’s summer concerts! \n*FREE ENTRY* \nAs always\, the Mountain State Street Machines a dba of Our Town\, Inc. will be there and we hope you’ll also bring your fun cars \, trucks\, and motorcycles! If you love your ride\, we love it too. There’s no entry fee and cars start arriving at 5.\nWe know that some of our sponsors are planning to have a presence as well as some other organizations and food vendors. You never know what might be there!\nThis is our best lineup yet. We have bands coming from Cincinnati\, Boston\, New York\, as well as some great in state talent and our final concert is an up and coming artist who is super talented and just happens to be from WV!\nDuring our annual 4th of July car show weekend we have THREE free concerts\, starting with the Air National Guard Band of the Northeast on Thursday\, Ryan Cain and the Ables bringing rockabilly for the first night of cars\, and then crowd favorite Rick K’s Road Trip Will be back on Saturday night followed by a huge fireworks display that will be right over our heads at the stage area this year. It’s going to be great!\nWe are hoping to see some big crowds. So\, Please share this and watch for this poster around the area.
