SUMMARY:POW/MIA Memorial Ride | Mingo Saloon
DESCRIPTION:The Mingo Saloon and Lodge with POW/MIA Forget-Me-Nots\, Inc. is organizing a motorcycle\nride beginning and ending at The Mingo Saloon and Lodge (29096 Seneca Trail\, Valley Head\,\nWV) to in honor of POW’s\, MIA’s and veterans from West Virginia\, specifically Randolph\nCounty. The procession route will include a pass over two bridges honoring local POW/MIA’s.\nOne in Weston that was recently dedicated to Vietnam War POW/MIA soldier\, Sergeant Major\nJoe Harold Pringle and the other is in Valley Bend\, WV\, dedicated to Vietnam War POW\, Staff\nSergeant Gail Mason Kerns. Anticipated attendance: 50-100 motorcycles/trikes/CanAms\nThe procession will follow route 219 North and conclude at The Mingo Saloon and Lodge where\nthere will be live music\, an informative and educational display provided by POW/MIA Forget-\nMe-Nots\, Inc. and a memorial ceremony with honored guests. \nSchedule of events: (RAIN OR SHINE)\n7:00AM Breakfast at the Mingo Saloon and Lodge\n10:15AM Blessing of the bikes\n10:30AM Kickstands up; begin procession\n2:30PM Live music and display provided by POW/MIA Forget-Me-Nots\, Inc. at the Mingo Saloon\nand Lodge\, Valley Head\n3:00PM Begin memorial ceremony with honored guest\nThe Procession route will follow route 219 through Elk Water\, Huttonsville\, Mill Creek\, Valley\nBend\, Dailey and Beverly\, arriving in Elkins at approximately 11:30AM. DESCRIPTION:Appalachian Forest Hiking Challenge Trail Talks \nJoin AFNHA this summer for guided hikes\, educational presentations\, and complimentary lunches. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nAll hikes are suitable for beginners and will be around one hour long. Accompanying presentations may discuss Leave No Trace practices\, community trails\, plants and animals\, history and heritage\, and more! Completion of five of these trails qualify hikers for an embroidered AFNHA Hiking Challenge patch. \nAnyone may attend\, but only attendees who register at least three days in advance will qualify for free lunch. \n\n\n\n\n\nRegister Here\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGuided Hike Trails and Dates (all hikes begin at 1:00pm)\nRain Dates will be the following Sunday\nPlease dress for weather. SUMMARY:Mobbin' the Mountains | Mingo Saloon & Lodge
DESCRIPTION:Join Rollin Throttle July 9–10\, 2027\, for Mobbin the Mountains. A weekend of riding West Virginia and spending time with the people you meet along the way. Our home base is The Mingo Saloon & Lodge in Valley Head. Friday’s Triple Threat Run takes us to Spruce Knob\, Smoke Hole Caverns and Blackwater Falls. Saturday’s Backroad Breakout Run follows mountain backroads through Webster Springs and Weston\, with a planned asylum tour and a stop in Helvetia. Kickstands go up at 9 AM both days\, and both rides return to the lodge. Saturday night\, we’ll wrap things up together at the Mobbin Send-Off Throwdown. Bring whatever you ride and join the parts of the weekend you want. No pass or ticket is required. Rooms\, RV sites and tent camping can be booked directly with the lodge\, or you can stay wherever works for you. Lodging\, meals\, fuel and attraction admission are separate.
