DESCRIPTION:Appalachian Forest Hiking Challenge Trail Talks \nJoin AFNHA this summer for guided hikes\, educational presentations\, and complimentary responsibly sourced lunches from \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAll hikes are suitable for beginners and will be around one hour long. Accompanying presentations may discuss Leave No Trace practices\, community trails\, plants and animals\, history and heritage\, and more! Completion of five of these trails qualify hikers for an embroidered AFNHA Hiking Challenge patch. \nAnyone may attend\, but only attendees who register at least three days in advance will qualify for free lunch. \n\n\n\n\n\nRegister Here\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGuided Hike Trails and Dates (all hikes begin at 1:00pm)\nRain Dates will be the following Sunday\nPlease dress for weather. Comfortable hard-soled shoes are recommended.\nLunch will be provided at the end of the hike.\nBathrooms may not be available at some locations.  \nJuly 26: Rich Mountain Battlefield | Meet at Field of Fire at 1 pm\, or Beverly Heritage Center at 12:30 to convoy out. DESCRIPTION:Come join us for a demonstration and hands-on learning opportunity on hand piecing and quilting by Katherine Gray and Jamie Billman.\nThese skills came to America with our fore-mothers and have been passed down for generations. Now\, as we celebrate America 250\, we celebrate these traditional skills and continue to pass them down.\nThe demonstration and hands-on learning will take place with traditional materials\, on an 1860s quilt top that is part of our America 250 exhibit.\nAny age is welcome to join us for the event and we will be providing necessary equipment!
