SUMMARY:History Alive: Pearl S. Buck | Halliehurst Mansion
DESCRIPTION:Pearl S. Buck\, Pulitzer Prize-winning author and social activist\, will be portrayed by veteran actress and historical reenactor Karen Vuranch of Fayetteville\, at 12:15 p.m. on Nov. 1 at Halliehurst Mansion on the campus of Davis & Elkins College in Elkins. This program is being presented by GFWC Elkins Woman’s Club and the History Alive Program from the West Virginia Humanities Council. This program will be free to the public. Any student interested in books and/or history is strongly encouraged to come. Prior to the presentation there will be a luncheon at Halliehurst at 11:30 a.m. with food prepared from Pearl Buck’s cookbook. Tickets for the lunch are available for purchase at the Elkins Sewing Center\, or call 304-516-3993.
