DESCRIPTION:Grayson Samples has been a WV performer for over 30 years.  His style of Appalachian musical influences intertwine with other genres to create his own sound. With original music and many other styles\, this show will leave you smiling and tapping your toes! Saturday\, April 18th from 5:30-7:30 PM. Outdoors on the historic 1841 Jail House lawn (weather permitting). Rain venue is the Beverly IOOF Great Hall (across the street from the Beverly Heritage Center). Guests are encouraged to bring a lawn chair and refreshments. FREE! Thanks to Davis Trust Company for sponsoring this concert.

DESCRIPTION:Celebrate America’s 250th with us! We’ll host Matthew Dodd’s unique performance of Songs and Stories of the American Revolution – live at the BHC for one day only. Dressed in Colonial clothes\, Matthew takes audiences back in time to the days of the American Colonial settlement and the American Revolution.  Using rousing period songs and stories that put the songs into the context of the time\, Matthew brings to life the exciting Days of 1776.  Matthew sings and plays guitar\, banjo and mandolin. This event is sure to be a treat for history lovers and live music fans alike. Saturday\, March 28th.

DESCRIPTION:Local folklorist and author Gerry Milnes will present “Early Architecture on the Old Frontier of West Virginia” for the November 21 program of Randolph County Historical Society. \nThe program\, taken from Milnes’ upcoming book\, details the earliest shelters used by pioneers on the “Old Frontier“ of West Virginia\, tracing the history of frontier shelter and log buildings including ethnic influences\, construction techniques\, folklore\, and anecdotes gleaned from old-timers. \nThis program will be featured during the Randolph County Historical Society Fall Annual Meeting\, Friday November 21 at the Beverly IOOF Community Room\, located upstairs in the building next to the Randolph County Museum\, on Main Street in Beverly. \nThe schedule for the event\, free to the public\, includes: \n4 to 6 pm – Jacob Stalnaker Cabin open house \n6 to 6:30 – Reception in the Beverly IOOF Community Room \n6:30 – Brief RCHS annual meeting\, followed by Log Cabin program
