DESCRIPTION:Wednesday April 15th\, 2026 from 12-1PM\, April Brown Bag Concert ft. The Casseday Brothers: Vernon and Norman Casseday are budding musicians from Elkins. These brothers have performed for a Helvetia Community Square Dance\, the Belington Bakery\, and have recently been featured on the Charm Life podcast. Vernon has also recorded two albums of fiddle tunes with his mentor\, Jesse Milnes. \nThey enjoy participating in the Vandalia Gathering\, the West Virginia State Folk Festival\, Arthurdale Heritage Festival\, and the Augusta Festival fiddle and banjo contests. They participate in the Augusta Strings and summer workshop programs and have been studying traditional old-time fiddle\, guitar\, and banjo music with Jesse Milnes\, Seth Maynard\, and Hunter Walker. \nThey will be sharing regional old-time tunes as well as some of their favorite Helvetia square dance tunes passed down from their great-grandfather\, Vernon Burky\, his brother Norman Burky\, and the Helvetia Star Band. \nSponsored by Davis Trust Company.

DESCRIPTION:The weekly traditional music jam sessions sponsored by Augusta Heritage Center\, formerly taking place outdoors in Elkins City Park\, have moved indoors to the Community Arts Center\, beginning with the month of September. The country music jams are from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.\, followed by the old-time music jams from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Anyone is welcome to participate (no sound systems or amplifiers) and all instruments and levels are welcome.
