Beaver Dam Wildlife Management Area

The Beaver Dam Wildlife Management Area (WMA), 37,674 acres, consists primarily of rugged mountain terrain covered in mixed hardwood stands in the Monongahela National Forest.

Hunters will find turkey, bear, deer, grouse, woodcock and snowshoe hare. Accommodations are provided for the Class Q hunter. The trapper should expect to find beaver, fox, and raccoon. Excellent fishing for trout is available in Shavers Fork, Glady Fork, Laurel Fork River, and their tributaries. Seventeen campsites are maintained at Laurel Fork with water pump and outdoor toilets.

Beaver Dam may be reached by U.S. Route 33 and WV routes 22, 40, 27, and 31. The area includes the Laurel Fork Wilderness Areas, with a combined 12,200 acres. Owned by U.S. Forest Service. Information provided by WVDNR.

All residents must have a proper hunting license and all non-residents must have a non-resident hunting license. Additional permits may be required. Hunters with physical disabilities may be eligible for disability permits. A current hunting license is required.
