Stay in the masterfully crafted Lemuel Chenoweth homestead along the rippling Tygart river. Built in 1857, this 2nd floor 4-room suite offers antique furnishings, a private entrance, master bedroom, bathroom, mini-kitchen, and mud room. It has a queen bed, dresser, large porch with views of the river, a claw-foot tub with shower, sink, toilette, and an extra room with a fridge, convection oven, and table for small bites. Its ideal location allows guests to be in walking distance to Beverly’s Main Street, museums and shops.
This home has a rich history. It withstood the burning of the Beverly Bridge during Rosser’s raid, a fire in the kitchen, and multiple updates from disco-loving decorators. However, it was fully restored back to Lemuel Chenoweth’s original design by Randy Allan in 1997. The house is filled with Lemuel Chenoweth history- pictures, maps, and furnishings match the home’s folk construction and age.
