Bowden Fish Hatchery

**The Bowden Fish Hatchery is currently CLOSED to the public due to construction taking place at the facility.
Situated 10 miles east of Elkins is the Bowden State Fish Hatchery. The facility is open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. If you are traveling in from a distance, it is best to call ahead. You can also find out what time they are feeding for the day to get the full experience. The Bowden State Fish Hatchery stocks streams, lakes, and rivers throughout North Central West Virginia. The facility places more than 200,000 trout into waterways during the stocking season, which lasts from January until May.
