“Create the Mon” Art Exhibition
Celebrate the opening of “Create the Mon,” an art exhibition inspired by the beauty and mystery of the Monongahela National Forest. Join artists and Forest enthusiasts for an evening of art, light refreshments, entertainment, and conversation about the Forest places that inspire their work. The Forest is our muse!
Cast your vote for the People’s Favorite art piece, with the winning artist will receive a $100 prize.
Be sure to stay for a special screening of “rebirth: wild & scenic headwaters” about preserving Mon Forest headwaters as Wild and Scenic Rivers.
The Exhibition will run from Friday, October 2, 2026, through Saturday, October 31, 2026. “Opening Night” will be Friday, October 2, 2026, from 5 pm to 8 pm. The Exhibition and the Opening Night will be held at the Appalachian Forest National Heritage Area, Appalachian Forest Discovery Center, 2nd Floor, Darden Mill, 101 Railroad Avenue, Elkins WV 26241.
