Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad In Elkins

315 Railroad Avenue, Elkins, WV 26241

Each year, tens of thousands of riders travel to the hills of West Virginia to enjoy our Mountain Rail Adventures. For more than 20 years, we’ve taken families across some of the most rugged corners of the Appalachian Mountains. Here, they will experience some of the best scenery in the eastern United States.

It’s not an accident that West Virginia is known as the Mountain State and after riding any one of our trains, you will definitely understand why. We offer stunning wilderness excursions traveling through rural, steep canyon terrain, clear free-flowing rivers, historic sites, and a beautiful, serene hidden waterfall only accessible by hiking or train riding.

Our trains operate from three historic depots, including the historic downtown Elkins depot in Randolph County, the quaint town of Durbin, and the world famous Cass Scenic Railroad in Pocahontas County. Join us for an elegant ride in our dining cars at Elkins or explore one of West Virginia’s highest mountain peaks as you ride behind more than a 100-year-old Shay steam locomotive.
