Author Event: Timothy G. Huguenin in Conversation With Ashley Lawson

June 22 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Award-winning horror author and Elkins resident Timothy G. Huguenin will be
discussing his work and signing books this Saturday evening, 6 p.m. on June 22nd, at Alexandria
on Main.

Dr. Ashley Lawson, Associate Professor of English at West Virginia Wesleyan College, will be
facilitating the conversation with Huguenin about his books, which include the West Virginia
Author Project winner When the Watcher Shakes, the Canaan Valley ghost story Little One, and
his strange and horrifying novella Unknowing, I Sink. All of his books are set in his home state of
West Virginia.

“Growing up in these mountains has greatly impacted my writing,” Huguenin states. “Even when
I am aiming to scare readers, I also strive to establish a strong sense of place and convey the
beauty of West Virginia and her people. There has been a dismaying trend in the horror genre of
promoting offensive stereotypes of Appalachians. I want to represent West Virginians fairly in
my fiction, with the dignity and respect we deserve.”

His literary heroes include not only horror masters like Stephen King and Edgar Allan Poe, but
also the acclaimed West Virginia authors Denise Giardina and Davis Grubb.

In addition to writing novels, Timothy G. Huguenin is an accomplished writer of short fiction.
His stories have appeared in various publications including YNST Magazine, Anthology of
Appalachian Writers Vol. XI, and The Saturday Evening Post.

Following his discussion with Dr. Lawson, Huguenin will meet fans and sign his books, which
are available for purchase at Alexandria on Main.

Tickets for the event are limited and can be purchased online at www.alexandriaonmain.com.
