Live Music: Becky Hill & Rachel Eddy | Darden Mill

Augusta Heritage Concerts presents: Becky Hill & Rachel Eddy. Come join us for an intimate duo performance at the Darden Mill, featuring old-time music and innovative dancing from two much-lauded artists of this generation of the tradition.

Becky Hill is a sought-after percussive dancer, square dance caller, choreographer, and educator. Becky has worked with Footworks Percussive Dance Ensemble, Rhythm in Shoes, Good Foot Dance Company, and studied with an array of percussive dance tradition bearers. Her choreography has been featured at Wheatland Music Festival, Jacob’s Pillow, and the Kennedy Center among others. She performs regularly with Ben Nelson, Rachel Eddy and Cathy & Marcy’s Old-Time Coalition. .
Becky has done extensive research into Appalachian Dance traditions alongside folklorist Gerry Milnes, where they co-created a documentary “Reel ‘Em Boys, Reel ‘Em” on West Virginia dance traditions and co-founded the Mountain Dance Trail of Augusta Heritage Center.
Rachel Eddy is a native of West Virginia now based in Washington, D.C., Rachel is celebrated worldwide for their emotionally resonant performances and thoughtful, inclusive teaching style. With deep roots in Appalachian music and a multi-instrumental mastery of fiddle, banjo, guitar, and mandolin, Rachel brings both tradition and innovation to every note. Whether performing solo or with ensembles like the Ken and Brad Kolodner Quartet or The Early Mays, Rachel’s passion for community shines through. They have taught at leading programs including Augusta Heritage Center, Sore Fingers, and Nashville Fiddle and Banjo Camp, guiding students of all levels toward greater connection with their instruments and creativity.
