Lower Glady Dispersed Camping Area

To reach the Lower Glady Dispersed Camping Area, take County Road 12 (Gladwin Road) from its intersection with US 33 at Alpena directly beside the Alpine Restaurant & Lodge for about 5miles until you reach Forest Service Road 162. The road is not maintained in winter. The dispersed camping area goes about two miles until it reaches the last camping spot with a gravel parking lot.
At Lower Glady Dispersed Camping several nice primitive campsites welcome you along a gravel road. There is a pit toilet in this area located in the camping area. You can either tent camp or bring a camper, the choice is yours. Set up camp and enjoy an extra s’more or two at the provided fire pits. Wake up to the fresh mountain air and fish along the stocked Glady Fork of the Cheat River or take the eastern trailhead to the Mylius Trail, which connects with trails in Otter Creek Wilderness.
