The Old Brick Playhouse Company is a professional touring theatre headquartered in the heart of the Potomac Highlands region in Elkins. The company has distinguished itself with kinetic, road-tested musical comedy for children and families.
The Old Brick Playhouse Touring Company creates original plays annually designed to tour elementary schools throughout the state focusing on social and cultural tolerance, conflict resolution, and drug and anti-bullying strategies. Over the past 25 years, these shows have entertained over 2.5 million children and have been merited at the National Theatre in Washington, D.C., the Edinburg Festival Fringe, and thousands of elementary schools in the Mid-Atlantic region and overseas.
During the summer, the Old Brick Playhouse offers a series of performance camps and plays serving students from age five to age twenty. The Old Brick Playhouse also presents Vaudevillian style entertainment similar to that found during the age of the Silo Circuit, popular during the railroad era in many small, rural towns such as Elkins. Old Brick also provides the entertainment during the Warner Brothers Polar Express train as well as the Alpine School of Magic and Virtue Mystic Flyer train.
