Monongahela Forest Capitol Christmas Tree Social Ride

Come join us in Elkins for a social gravel ride starting from Joey’s Bike Shop on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 1pm. We’ll have two different ride options to match your pace / fitness level.
The 2023 U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree was selected from the Monongahela National Forest and will be starting a tour through West Virginia on November 4 in Elkins before it arrives on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol grounds.
We’ll meet around 12:30pm in front of Joey’s Bike Shop and depart around 1pm. We’ll have two ride options. The first taking the rail trail from Elkins toward Parsons and will be a casual 10-12mph pace. The 2nd ride option will be on paved and gravel roads and a little more spirited, but not hammer time.
We’ll plan to be back by 4pm so you have time to grab a bite to eat before the tree festivities kick-off at 6pm. Bring everything you usually need for a 2-3 hour ride, spare tube, pump, snacks, helmet, warm layers, rain jacket.
