Conversation on Headwaters with West Virginia Rivers
August 1, 2023 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Tuesday, August 1 – 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. – Elkins Town Square. “Conversation on Headwaters.” We will be gathering at Elkins Town Square (at the Depot). There will be live music, light refreshments, and information regarding the work WV Rivers is doing in the Mon Forest. Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions, get more information about the Mon Forest headwaters, and share their ideas and concerns.
This in-person event is a follow-up to the “Conversation on Headwaters” that we presented virtually this spring. The Mon Forest, and its headwaters, are an important priority of WV Rivers efforts to protect water quality and public lands. Mon Forest headwaters are the ultimate source of clean drinking water in the Chesapeake and Ohio watersheds and provide habitat and support outdoor recreation. There is background information about WV Rivers efforts to understand concerns regarding the Mon Forest at the end of this invitation.
