8/7 – In Tune: A Community of Musicians
From West Virginia Public Broadcasting, In Tune examines old-time music in the hills and valleys of WV. The documentary also considers the homogenization of customs and music culture; the impact of the American Folk Revival; rediscovery of old-time musicians; the arrival of back-to-the-landers in Appalachia; growing popularity of old-time music festivals.

8/14 – RUMBLE: The Indians Who Rocked the World
RUMBLE explores how the Native American influence is an integral part of music history, despite attempts to ban, censor, and erase Indigenous culture in the United States. The stories of iconic Native musicians are told by some of America’s greatest music legends who knew them, played music with them, and were inspired by them: everyone from Buddy Guy, Quincy Jones, and Tony Bennett to Iggy Pop, Steven Tyler, and Stevie Van Zandt. RUMBLE shows how Indigenous music was part of the very fabric of American popular music from the beginning, but that the Native American contribution was left out of the story – until now.

8/21 – The Resilient Forest
The Resilient Forest documents the settlements, early history, industrialization, folklife, recreation, conservation, and forestry practices that have formed the cultural identity of residents of the Appalachian Forest National Heritage Area.

8/28 – Reel ‘Em, Boys, Reel ‘Em
A film by Augusta Heritage Center, Reel ‘Em features West Virginia traditional square dancing and step dancing. This documentary follows the Mountain Dance Trail as it winds across the Mountain State.
