POW/MIA Memorial Ride | Mingo Saloon

The Mingo Saloon and Lodge with POW/MIA Forget-Me-Nots, Inc. is organizing a motorcycle
ride beginning and ending at The Mingo Saloon and Lodge (29096 Seneca Trail, Valley Head,
WV) to in honor of POW’s, MIA’s and veterans from West Virginia, specifically Randolph
County. The procession route will include a pass over two bridges honoring local POW/MIA’s.
One in Weston that was recently dedicated to Vietnam War POW/MIA soldier, Sergeant Major
Joe Harold Pringle and the other is in Valley Bend, WV, dedicated to Vietnam War POW, Staff
Sergeant Gail Mason Kerns. Anticipated attendance: 50-100 motorcycles/trikes/CanAms
The procession will follow route 219 North and conclude at The Mingo Saloon and Lodge where
there will be live music, an informative and educational display provided by POW/MIA Forget-
Me-Nots, Inc. and a memorial ceremony with honored guests.

Schedule of events: (RAIN OR SHINE)
7:00AM Breakfast at the Mingo Saloon and Lodge
10:15AM Blessing of the bikes
10:30AM Kickstands up; begin procession
2:30PM Live music and display provided by POW/MIA Forget-Me-Nots, Inc. at the Mingo Saloon
and Lodge, Valley Head
3:00PM Begin memorial ceremony with honored guest
The Procession route will follow route 219 through Elk Water, Huttonsville, Mill Creek, Valley
Bend, Dailey and Beverly, arriving in Elkins at approximately 11:30AM. We ask residents,
businesses, church parishioners, scouts, etc. to gather in support as we pass through their
town.
There will be an after-party at the Mingo Saloon and Lodge with food, drinks, and live music.
Lodging is also available.
