Rosie the Riveter Celebration @ Elkins Town Square Amphitheater

Our Town is planning a Rosie the Riveter celebration on Labor Day, Monday, September 6 to celebrate those women who were the backbone of our homefront military effort during WW II.  The event is scheduled to occur at the Rotary Amphitheater beginning at 12 noon.  Those of all ages who are attending are welcome to bring a chair, a blanket, a sun umbrella and a lunch as we celebrate this day. .  There will be presentations, music, dance and participant involvement. Everyone will be asked to bring a bell of any size to join in the world wide bell ringing ceremony at  1 pm.  Those coming dressed as the stereotypical Rosie will be eligible for door prizes.  This event is a national and international celebration and Elkins wants to be part of the recognition for these special women, many from our area and a few who still live among us.
