The Rhododendron Cabin, part of the Cheat River Lodge and Cabins, was built in the early 1900s, and the one thing that has not changed is its majestic riverfront view of the Cheat River. Like generations past, you can sit on the furnished, screened porch and watch the river roll by, or try your luck at catching supper. After a day of hiking in the Monongahela National Forest, slip into a private hot tub… so close to water’s edge that you could fish from it!

Experience the ambiance of the traditional log structure, with cathedral ceiling, hand hewn logs and chinking, and large stone fireplace. Equipped with quality gas logs, a flip of a switch will set the stage! For those who just want to kick back and be with family and friends, the covered screened porch offers a wonderful spot to view the river, rain or shine. Because of its close proximity to the water, the Rhododendron is not the best choice for young children, or toddlers.

The personalized linens, and attractive décor add a special touch to make the Rhododendron unique, and one of a kind. Two bedrooms on the main floor have a queen bed, and the loft has a set of twins. The kitchen is fully equipped with all of the essentials, to include dinnerware that matches the décor. Remodeled to provide all of the modern appointments you would expect to find in a charming mountain getaway, it includes forced air heat, air conditioning, cable TV. Additional fans, a charcoal barbecue grill, and picnic table are provided.
