The Old Mill
Appalachian Highway, Harman, WV 26270
The Day-Vandevander Mill, known as the Old Mill, is a historic grist mill near Harman. The original structure was built in 1877 and is a mortice and tenon, hand-hewn post and beam structure. The additions to the mill were built in the 1920s. The property includes the original mill pond and tailrace. Today, the mill is still running and stands as a mill museum. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.
Open seasonal, Tuesday through Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm the Old Mill serves as a tourist attraction during the summer months. Take a tour through the historic facility, check out local artists products, and see the loom in action on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
