In 2025, the Elkins-Randolph County Chamber of Commerce debuted a new signature event for the community: Denim & Diamonds. Now it’s returning for its second year and we sat down with Karrah Washington, the Chamber’s Executive Director, to get the inside scoop on this year’s event.

What’s the inspiration behind the name “Denim & Diamonds”?

Denim & Diamonds is all about bringing together the best of both worlds—casual country charm and a little sparkle. We wanted to create an event where guests could enjoy a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere while still having fun dressing up if they choose. Think blue jeans, cowboy boots, rhinestones, and a night of line dancing, great food, drinks, music, and community. The name reflects the perfect blend of rustic and glamorous—because everyone deserves a reason to shine while supporting a great cause!

When and where does the event take place?

Denim & Diamonds will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at the Dakan Arena at 4-H Camp Pioneer outside of Beverly. Gates open at 5:30 p.m., and the festivities begin at 6:00 p.m. Join us for an unforgettable evening of line dancing, live music, delicious food, drinks, contests, and community fun—all while supporting 4-H Camp Pioneer, as a portion of the event proceeds will be donated to the camp.

What can people expect throughout the event?

This year, we’re bringing back everything guests loved about our inaugural event. Guests can expect a fun, laid-back evening filled with great entertainment, delicious food, shopping, and plenty of opportunities to make memories. Throughout the night, you’ll enjoy:

  • Live music and line dancing
  • Delicious food and beverages
  • A bridle-less horse cutting show
  • Shopping with local vendors, including a hat bar, permanent jewelry, and other unique items
  • Fun contests including Best Blinged Boots, Best Blinged Cowboy Hat, Best Blinged Outfit, and Best Blinged Couple
  • A welcoming atmosphere where friends, neighbors, businesses, and visitors can come together for a great cause

Is there a dress code?

Not at all! We simply encourage guests to have fun with the theme if they’d like. Whether you wear jeans and a T-shirt, your favorite cowboy boots, or go all out with rhinestones and western glam, you’ll fit right in. Dressing for the theme definitely adds to the fun, but the only thing that really matters is coming ready to enjoy a great evening! There will also be exclusive Denim & Diamonds t-shirts available by pre-order! We will have a limited number of shirts available in sizes Small–3XL for $20 each, and you must order by July 27!

Who should attend the event?

Denim & Diamonds is for anyone 21 and older looking for a fun night out! Whether you’re coming with your spouse, a group of friends, coworkers, or flying solo, there’s something for everyone. You don’t have to know how to line dance—or even plan to dance—to have a great time. Come enjoy delicious food, drinks, music, shopping with local vendors, fun contests, and a welcoming community atmosphere. Whether you’re supporting the cause, networking with local businesses, or simply looking for a unique night out, Denim & Diamonds is the perfect event for you.

How much are tickets, and what’s included?

General admission tickets are $25 per person and include:

  • Admission to Denim & Diamonds
  • One complimentary drink ticket
  • Five line dances prior to the event on 8.22.26
  • A bridleless horse cutting demonstration
  • Music
  • Fun contests
  • Access to local vendors, including a hat bar and permanent jewelry
  • A full evening of food, drinks, dancing, shopping, and community fun

Reserved tables for eight guests are also available for $175, making them perfect for businesses, friends, or families who want to enjoy the evening together. Best of all, a portion of the proceeds from Denim & Diamonds will be donated to 4-H Camp Pioneer, so every ticket purchased helps support a great local cause. Dinner is not included, but a variety of delicious food options will be available for purchase from our local food vendors throughout the evening

Advice for a first-time attendee?

Come ready to have fun! You don’t need any line dancing experience to enjoy the evening—everyone is welcome, and the dances are easy to follow. Wear whatever you’re comfortable in (bonus points if you embrace the Denim & Diamonds theme), bring your friends, and don’t be afraid to get out on the dance floor.

Be sure to arrive early so you have plenty of time to grab some delicious food, browse the local vendors, check out the hat bar and permanent jewelry, watch the bridleless horse cutting demonstration, and enjoy everything the evening has to offer. Most importantly, relax, meet new people, and enjoy a memorable night while supporting the Elkins-Randolph County Chamber & 4-H Camp Pioneer.

Where can visitors stay the night?

Why not make a weekend of it? Campsites are available for $40 per night and can be reserved directly through Camp Pioneer here: https://app.fireflyreservations.com/Reserve/Property/CampPioneerDakanArena

If you’d prefer to stay in Elkins, we encourage you to support our Chamber Partner accommodations including: Third Street Air, Tygart Hotel, Holiday Inn Express & Suites, and Super 8 by Wyndham.

You’ll also find a variety of local cabins, campgrounds, and vacation rentals throughout Randolph County if you’re looking to turn your visit into a relaxing weekend getaway. We hope you’ll take some time to explore our local shops, restaurants, and attractions while you’re here!

Where can I learn to line dance?

Your Denim & Diamonds ticket includes admission to all five pre-event line dancing classes—a $25 value! Classes are held from 6:00–7:30 p.m. at the WV Wood Technology Center (10 11th Street, Elkins). The class dates are:

  • Monday, July 20
  • Tuesday, July 28
  • Tuesday, August 4
  • Tuesday, August 11
  • Tuesday, August 18

Whether you’re brand new to line dancing or have been dancing for years, these classes are designed for all ages and skill levels. No experience necessary! Attend one class or all five—it’s completely up to you! They’ll help you feel confident and ready to hit the dance floor at Denim & Diamonds on Saturday, August 22. You can even attend a line dancing class without attending Denim & Diamonds for just $5. Can’t stay for the entire class? That’s okay too! Feel free to come and go as needed. The goal is to have fun, learn a few dances, and enjoy the experience at your own pace.

Can I ride my horse to Denim & Diamonds?
