Each year the delightful small towns of Randolph County come alive with some of the most interesting and diverse festivals in West Virginia. We’ve got it all – from the largest festival in the state to small town homecomings. Taste seasonal food and drink. Experience live music and craft shows. Discover community traditions and local history. Find our spin on familiar holidays and unique events you can’t find anywhere else. Join us as we celebrate what makes Randolph County festive by nature!

February
Fasnacht (Helvetia) – The town of Helvetia embraces its Swiss culture by celebrating the end of winter and start of Lent by burning Old Man Winter at Fasnacht. It occurs on the Saturday before Ash Wednesday.

March
Maple Syrup Festival (Pickens) – West Virginia has a long history of maple syrup production. Celebrate this tradition with us on the third full weekend in March. Activities include a pancake feast, maple farm tours, arts and craft vendors, live music, and more.

April
Ramps & Rail Festival (Elkins) – Learn about this unique indigenous Appalachian leek while enjoying local food vendors, arts, crafts, live music, and train rides. The festival takes place on the last Saturday in April.

June
Our Town Cruise-Ins & Concerts (Elkins) – A gathering of classic cars and free live concerts on designated evenings from June-August at the Rotary Amphitheater in Town Square.
Coalton Days (Coalton) – Carnival rides, contests, a 5k run/walk, a Flag Raising Ceremony, crafts, tractor pulls, entertainment, and concessions are just a few of the activities that take place during the third weekend in June. Oh, and did we mention there’s free beer?
West Virginia Celtic Festival (Beverly) – The Wild & Wonderful Celtic festival & Highland Games held at Camp Pioneer celebrates Celtic heritage through music, dance, athletics, education, and fun for all ages.

July
Mountain State Street Machines Auto Extravaganza (Elkins) – Celebrate the Fourth of July weekend with stunning new, unique, classic, and antique cars, fun entertainment, prizes, fireworks, plus delicious food and crafts from area vendors.
Beverly Heritage Day (Beverly) – Activities include heritage-inspired music, historical presentations, the Parade of History, a pie sale, blacksmith demonstrations, children’s games, and re-enactors of multiple periods: frontier, Civil War, and beyond. Typically coincides with the Beverly Fireman’s Festival.
Augusta Heritage Festival (Elkins) – An annual celebration of traditional music, dance, and crafts. The festival, which takes place in Elkins City Park, includes a juried craft fair featuring regional artisans, live music workshops, jam sessions, concessions, and children’s activities.

August
Randolph County Fair (Beverly) – The Randolph County Fair features an evening rodeo show as well as demolition derby, craft show, livestock, corn maze, and a barn dance. Watch the tractor pulls and ATV drag races, ride the amusement rides, eat some carnival food, and watch a fireworks show.

September
Helvetia Community Fair (Helvetia) – Festivities include a parade, Swiss folk dancing, flag-swinging, Alphorn playing, yodeling, games, arts and crafts, and a square dance.

October
Mountain State Forest Festival (Elkins) – This is the oldest and largest festival in the state of West Virginia. Join us in celebrating our forest heritage and the splendor of our mountains in all their autumn glory with parades, lumberjack competitions, live music, a carnival, arts and crafts, and more. It is typically held during the first full weekend in October.

December
Elkins Christmas Parade (Elkins) – The Christmas Parade is held in downtown Elkins the first Friday in December. Following the Christmas Parade there is a tree lighting and a chance to meet Mr. & Mrs. Claus.
“Roamin’ in Randolph” Christmas Lights Displays – Get in the holiday spirit by driving around Randolph County and viewing the Christmas light displays. These holiday light displays are visible throughout the county in places like “Whoville” in Mill Creek, the Elkins Depot Welcome Center, and a variety of businesses and residential homes.
