Copperhead’s Coil takes you through three different counties in the Potomac Highlands Region: Randolph, Pocahontas, and Pendleton. This motorcycle tour will wind in and out of Civil War history, follow the original Staunton-Parkersburg Turnpike, and provide the opportunity to see some of the best known attractions in West Virginia. You will be able to learn about the history of Randolph County in Beverly, explore the fascinating world of radio astronomy at the Greenbank Observatory and sightsee Seneca Rocks, a captivating rock formation unlike any other on the east coast.

Randolph County, West Virginia is filled with numerous hairpin curves and breathtaking rolling terrain. The Little Swiss Village Route takes you back in the high mountains to the small village of Helvetia. The original Swiss and German settlers arrived in 1869 and many of their descendants remain. This route meanders through the mountains of West Virginia with many different attractions to visit along the way. From Holly River State Park and the West Virginia Wildlife Center to the oldest covered bridge in the state, you’ll want to make this route your next adventure.

Approximately 1.3 million visitors come to the Monongahela National Forest each year. It is a place where visitors can enjoy breathtaking landscapes, peaceful county roads, gentle flowing streams, and glimpses of diverse plants and wildlife. The Mon Forest Towns Motorcycle Tour will weave you in and out of ten gateway towns, the Monongahela National Forest, and limitless opportunities to experience outdoor recreation during your ride. You’ll notice all the towns have unique characteristics and stories that intrinsically connect them to the Forest at differing terrains, elevations, and historical periods. We suggest planning on two full days for this tour.

Made up of numerous US Forest Service roads and country roads, off-road riding on an adventure bike will take you to some of the most remote, yet breathtaking places in Randolph County. The Randolph Rattler is all about dirt and gravel. On this journey we advise bringing a picnic lunch because you will not be close to amenities for a while. You’ll experience the infamous Sinks of Gandy, Spruce Knob Lake – the highest lake in the state, and a one-of-a-kind farm to bottle distillery – Still Hollow Spirits.

West Virginia is the only state that lies completely within the oldest mountain range in the United States, the Appalachian Mountains. Randolph County is the largest county in West Virginia which means a majority of the landscape is represented by these mountains. The Mountain Salamander cuts you through the county providing challenging switchbacks with plenty of elevation changes that will test your skills. This trip will take you atop of Snowshoe Mountain where you can see for miles, through the old historic town of Cass, and over one of the best mountains to ride your motorcycle in Randolph County – Cheat Mountain.
